While booking a cabin at the Daintree Wilderness Lodge online, I thought it was too good to be true. However, the Lodge actually far exceeded our expectations. Daintree Wilderness Lodge is a boutique hotel, with only 7 wooden cabins, each one having its own attached bathroom. Our bathroom were very spacious and clean. Each cabin is quite large and is connected to the reception/breakfast area through an elevated boardwalk. Each cabin is away from the next cabin, so privacy is not an issue. The Lodge is located in the middle of the forest and yet is so easily accessible by car (no need for a 4×4). Our cabin had a little skylight too which meant that during the day, there was no need to switch on any lights, and in the light you could see quite a few stars even with the dense forest canopy.
Daintree Wilderness Lodge is a family-run establishment. Scott, who overseas the running of the hotel, is friendly, super helpful and kind. He gave us some great suggestions and advise so that we could make the most of the Daintree. Many people visit Daintree only as a day-trip, but I honestly feel that that does no justice to the majesty of the forest. We were there for 3 nights, but perhaps one more day would have been nice. After a long day of walking and trekking, it was great to just be in the hotel and wind down. While you are in the Daintree, consider yourself to be “off the grid”. Mobile connection (especially internet) is very flaky throughout the forest, with a few pockets where you get connectivity. In the hotel, there is Wi-Fi in the reception/breakfast area but not in the cabins. There is no live TV connection but there is a TV and a DVD player, and a pretty good selection of DVDs!
I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to stay at the Daintree. If I ever visit again, this is where I would be staying. We even got a discount by booking directly on their website.

Had a truly memorable experience staying at this accommodation. Me and my partner felt very warmly welcomed by both Scott and Daisy. The location is the Daintree rainforest felt so special, close to beautiful walks and beaches to explore. The breakfast was lovely and the dinners were delicious modern Australian. The cabins are so beautiful and comfortable. A special Australian experience all around. After covid lockdowns in Melbourne this holiday was long anticipated and expectations were still exceeded. Thank you to Scott and Daisy.

Five stars experience in World Heritage Daintree Rainforest
We spent three days and two night in the Daintree Rainforest. We have never had that opportunity so we didn’t know what to expect. We have researched and by word of mouth elected to stay two nights at the Daintree Wilderness Lodge. The Lodge is located between Daintree River Ferry and Daintree Rainforest. V easy accessible by car. We had a lovely time at the Lodge. Fantastic breakfast (included), Nature Walk (on the premise for an hour to a beautiful creek), excellent dinner every night at the Lodge. The cabin we stayed in blended into the Rainforest surrounding with sky roof, glass shower (we can see cassowaries walking past and they can see us). Sleeping in the cabin gives us experience first hand of living under the Rainforest canopy. We came in Oct and there is almost no signs of mosquito. The hosts and wait staff are all v friendly, helpful and food served is immaculate. All credit to the Daintree Wilderness Lodge Team. We will come again.

Loved it!!
Loved everything about the Lodge! Warm welcome, the cabins are lovely and located right in the forest, secluded from one another for privacy. We had a gorgeous shower with view on the trees and were also positively impressed by the restaurant. Our barramundi and Nasi Goreng were delicious, as was the breakfast. We were not lucky with the cassowaries, but I’d still advice to take the short walk around the lodge.

Daisy and Scott were wonderful hosts from the moment we arrived. Our cabin was delightful. The bathroom was special. Excellent food at the restaurant. The Lodge is close to stunning beaches, lots of walks and safe swimming holes and snorkeling opportunities. The Rainforest is magical.

WOW! What a perfect spot for a honeymoon! Every room is like a private sanctuary in the middle of the rainforest. Even the shower has a magical view. I’m not sure how they managed to serve such great food but every meal was delicious. If they have crocodile spring rolls on the menu you have to try them.

Daintree is an area surrounded by flora and fauna. There is little to no telco reception which makes the place a peaceful oasis. Our lodge was newly renovated and our hosts were delightful. The property is surrounded by rain forest and local native Australian animals. Meals are within a beautiful setting with farm to table produce and a good selection of wines. We had a wonderful and peaceful two nights and highly recommend the getaway.

I wish I had taken more photos. The Lodge is fantastic and made all the more incredible by the amazing hosts. The food, atmosphere and beverages were great. David even tweaked the dessert menu to suit us. The rooms are lovely – the basin in the bathroom is gorgeous! Cant wait to go back!

The stay here was absolutely incredible. To be surrounded by the rainforest every morning and night was an incredible experience. Breakfast included was great so I didn’t need to worry, there are awesome choices for dinner also. They have air con and a fan (although wet season I found it was still very very hot because of humidity!) The family who own the resort are so kind and accommodating it was such a world class experience and I have very high standards! Thank you so much to the team at the wilderness lodge for the unforgettable stay. Beautiful escape, 5 stars and highly recommend.

A Most Memorable Experience
We had a wonderful time here, staying 4 nights which is just about right. The place is so peaceful and you are genuinely immersed in the forest. We particularly enjoyed the cold spa pool which we sat in at the end of each day, enjoying a local beer. Veronica and the staff were great and gave us lots of information on the best places to visit. The evening meals were fabulous and they had a good selection of wine and beers. It was particularly nice being able to dine outside each evening. Highly recommended.

Rainforest retreat is excellent
Stayed here for 2 nights in October. Forest cabin was clean, bed comfortable, shower area really nice and tea/coffee etc in the room. Aircon is preset, but enough if things get too humid or hot. No wifi in the room, we saw this as a bonus. Put your phone down and relax. Some wifi in the reception area if you really need the outside world.
We loved our time here, the sights and sounds of the rainforest were amazing.
Breakfast and dinner were first class, as were the staff.

Beautiful location. Unique little cabins with part glass roof situated well amongst the greenery. When it rains everything comes alive. The owner the next morning cooked us a beautiful breaky and mapped out everywhere worth exploring. This was my favourite accommodation of the entire trip. Bring food, there’s no shops around but you can order dinner at the hotel if you tell them in advance.
