Wonderful rainforest retreat

This place is amazing. We woke up to the sound of the rainforest and showered with a window looking onto the rainforest. The food was fantastic, both for breakfast and dinner. You order your meals ahead and BYOB. Our cabin was really comfortable, we only needed the aircon occasionally as the fan was great. We sat outside the cabin early with coffee listening to the forest wake up. We used the cold jacuzzi to cool down after a long day sightseeing. The host gave us great recommendations for places to visit. Highly recommended

So grateful for such a lovely getaway in the Daintree! It is such a gorgeous, tranquil place to stay, right in the heart of the rainforest. The location is perfect with Mossman Gorge, Crocodile experiences, Great Barrier Reef snorkelling, Emmagen Creek and more so close by. The food was exquisite and all the staff so kind and happy to help. Thank you for such a great holiday!

I wish I had taken more photos. The Lodge is fantastic and made all the more incredible by the amazing hosts. The food, atmosphere and beverages were great. David even tweaked the dessert menu to suit us. The rooms are lovely – the basin in the bathroom is gorgeous! Cant wait to go back!

We loved our stay at Daintree Wilderness Lodge… a highlight of our trip to Australia. The location is amazing – so peaceful. There were some animals wandering around the property too, including a baby cassowary! The rooms are very private, not overlooked at all, so you can sleep with the curtains open. The room was spotlessly clean and stocked with tea/coffee. The food was great (remember to order your dinner ahead of time), and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable for things to do in the area. Would love to make it back here some day!

Unique , off the grid holiday

Overall a unique experience. Daisy, the manager there, was very accommodating and friendly. We were amazed how she managed to look after the reception , check-ins and the restaurant. There is wifi in the lobby but not in the rooms. Good for a digital detox and focus on the beautiful surrounding that daintree had to offer. Breakfast was provided so I definitely think it was worth the money . Food was good at the cycad restaurant 🙂

Beautiful location. Unique little cabins with part glass roof situated well amongst the greenery. When it rains everything comes alive. The owner the next morning cooked us a beautiful breaky and mapped out everywhere worth exploring. This was my favourite accommodation of the entire trip. Bring food, there’s no shops around but you can order dinner at the hotel if you tell them in advance.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The location is beautiful and secluded, like no other place I’ve been before. I think I enjoyed it more and more each day as I got used to the Daintree spirit and could really appreciate the magic and the surroundings.
The rooms are so fitting to the Daintree; rustic, wooden, cosy and welcoming. They have aircon, ceiling fan, fly screens on the windows, tv, mini fridge, kettle etc.
Bathroom is beautiful with a window looking out over the forest from the gorgeous shower.
Breakfast order is taken the day before and is brought out as soon as you arrive, beautiful fruit platter to start, and then very generous portions for main. You can book for dinner as well which is useful as there aren’t a lot of choices in the area, food was great.
Last but certainly not least, we fell in love with the managers and have to give a special thank you to Margaret as we had a lot of laughs with her and looked forward to seeing her each morning at breakfast. Nothing was a problem, even when we locked ourselves out one night haha. Margaret went out of her way to tell us about hidden gems we should see and you could tell genuinely loves sharing this knowledge and ensuring you have a great experience during your time in the Daintree.
If you want a truly magical nature/rainforest experience in a beautiful, secluded part of the world, I recommend this place. If you want a resort with lots of amenities and room service etc, this may not be the right choice for you, but you would miss out on all that it does offer ❤

Rainforest retreat is excellent

Stayed here for 2 nights in October. Forest cabin was clean, bed comfortable, shower area really nice and tea/coffee etc in the room. Aircon is preset, but enough if things get too humid or hot. No wifi in the room, we saw this as a bonus. Put your phone down and relax. Some wifi in the reception area if you really need the outside world.
We loved our time here, the sights and sounds of the rainforest were amazing.
Breakfast and dinner were first class, as were the staff.

Amazing time, lovely people and amazing food. Would definitely come back and stay. Nothing was too hard to help accomodate. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Easy access to all areas of the Daintree. Premises were beautifully kept.

One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed!

A truly once in a lifetime experience. Absolutely beautiful location in the middle of the rainforest with only a handful of cabins meant it was a special experience. Couldn’t fault the place at all everything was lovely. Food was 5 star, amazing customer service and the shower overlooks the rainforest. Definitely an amazing place!

My partner and I stayed here as a wedding gift from friends. We absolutely loved it! The shower was such a cool feature, the room was beautiful and the staff super friendly. The food was also delicious, they even made me a special vegetarian meal so I didn’t have to eat the same thing twice 🙂 Best place we stayed in the Daintree by far and would definitely recommend.

While booking a cabin at the Daintree Wilderness Lodge online, I thought it was too good to be true. However, the Lodge actually far exceeded our expectations. Daintree Wilderness Lodge is a boutique hotel, with only 7 wooden cabins, each one having its own attached bathroom. Our bathroom were very spacious and clean. Each cabin is quite large and is connected to the reception/breakfast area through an elevated boardwalk. Each cabin is away from the next cabin, so privacy is not an issue. The Lodge is located in the middle of the forest and yet is so easily accessible by car (no need for a 4×4). Our cabin had a little skylight too which meant that during the day, there was no need to switch on any lights, and in the light you could see quite a few stars even with the dense forest canopy.
Daintree Wilderness Lodge is a family-run establishment. Scott, who overseas the running of the hotel, is friendly, super helpful and kind. He gave us some great suggestions and advise so that we could make the most of the Daintree. Many people visit Daintree only as a day-trip, but I honestly feel that that does no justice to the majesty of the forest. We were there for 3 nights, but perhaps one more day would have been nice. After a long day of walking and trekking, it was great to just be in the hotel and wind down. While you are in the Daintree, consider yourself to be “off the grid”. Mobile connection (especially internet) is very flaky throughout the forest, with a few pockets where you get connectivity. In the hotel, there is Wi-Fi in the reception/breakfast area but not in the cabins. There is no live TV connection but there is a TV and a DVD player, and a pretty good selection of DVDs!
I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to stay at the Daintree. If I ever visit again, this is where I would be staying. We even got a discount by booking directly on their website.
